About the YouTube integration

Add the YouTube piece to a flow, connect your account once, and the rest of the builder can read from it and write to it. Because the piece is open source you can run it on our cloud or self-host it, and combine YouTube with 760+ other apps in the same flow.

Triggers

Start a flow the moment something happens in YouTube

Each trigger below can start a flow on its own, either instantly or on a schedule.

  • New Video In Channel

Runs when a new video is added to a YouTube channel

    1 field

Actions

Everything Activepieces can do in YouTube

Drop any of these into a flow and fill in the fields. No code is required.

  • Download Caption

Returns a caption track text by caption ID using the YouTube captions.download endpoint. Requires permission to edit the video, so it only works for captions on videos the authenticated user owns. Auto-generated (asr) caption tracks cannot be downloaded and will return a 403.

    4 fields

  • List Captions

Returns caption tracks for a specific YouTube video using the captions.list endpoint.

    3 fields

  • Search

Search YouTube videos, channels, and playlists using the YouTube Data API search.list endpoint.

    30 fields

  • List Playlist Items

YouTube, answered.

Yes. Activepieces is open source and free to start, and the YouTube piece is included on every plan, from the free cloud tier to any self-hosted deployment.

Add the YouTube piece to a flow, then authenticate with OAuth 2.0. Once connected, its 1 trigger and 9 actions are available anywhere in the builder.

"New Video In Channel" can start a flow that runs "Download Caption", and you can chain YouTube together with any of 760+ other apps and AI steps in between.

Yes. Activepieces is fully self-hostable, so you can run the YouTube piece on your own infrastructure with your connections and your data staying in your environment.

Yes. Every piece you connect can be exposed over one Activepieces MCP server, so Claude, Cursor, Windsurf or any MCP client can call YouTube actions as tools.
